Slight detour: New VFX for attacks!


Unfortunately I injured my drawing hand at the gym, so it hasn't been possible to continue the character art for the past week or so. In lieu of that, I've decided to skip ahead a bit to improving some of the game's placeholder VFX! The VFX for hitting an enemy has been made greatly more visible and an entirely new effect has been added for a ranged character firing a projectile. There are additionally improved visuals for AoE attacks (not currently in the publicly available alpha) and self-buffs. Witness it all in the glorious 5 frame per second gif below:


There's still some VFX I'd like to touch up, but my hand is feeling a lot better now so hopefully I will be able to return to our regularly scheduled drawings of gremlin lizard people in the next couple of days.
