Small monsters, scary monsters, and more!


It's been a very exciting week of assorted, but very important, features being added!

  • A small title card now flashes when you enter a new floor:

  • Trivial map encounters have been made smaller visually since IMO it just looks nicer:


  • The XP counter has been polished a bit visually, and a new HUD element has been added displaying the current area (still unceremoniously named Test Zone) and how many steps you've taken on this floor
  • If you dawdle too long on a floor something bad will happen!:


  • The Prettification has finally reached the in-battle action popup, which I'd been putting off touching because it was deeply married with the C++ side of the code which is usually a mess to work with:


  • We now have a unique BGM for the first dungeon, as well as various sound effects for feedback across all sections of gameplay! The latter will be a continuous work in progress as I'm not well versed in sound design, but battles in particular already feel a lot better with various plops and thwaps to indicate units attacking

I've now checked of all the things I needed to get done before the next, most exciting phase: adding a few new characters to fill out the roster for the demo release! Anticipatory applause!!
