Sickening developments


I've not been feeling well the past week so progress has been slow, but I did manage to get some rough metrics for how long it'd take to fully explore a floor with X amount of cells discounting battles and events (which I should time on their own come to think of it). In the process, I added functionality for a map to have a ratio of inactive cells that are not filled in during floor generation (in the alpha, all cells in the 6x6 grid are used). Interestingly (to me), the average time taken seemed to scale roughly linearly with cell count, from about 50 seconds with 18/36 active cells up to about 1 minute 40 seconds with 36/36; however, maps with more active cells (and thus greater potential complexity) seemed to vary more in completion time. Granted, my sample size for both groups was extremely small (5 runs each).

In somewhat more exciting and flashier news,  the next item on my totally well planned out and not hastily slapped together in 15 seconds while sleep deprived to do list is to update the art for all 6 existing characters in the alpha! Here is Lalli, before...
